This is a series of essays in which I try to strip back the thing known as government to basic principles – principles on which, hopefully, we can all agree and working from there, design and build a government much more suited to our needs than the mismanaged mess we are currently force to endure.
What should a government be and do? What should it definitely NOT be and do? Is it even necessary at all? If so, how much and why? How do we decide, against what criteria?
I’ve called it “Lighten the Load” as my goal is to reduce the burden placed upon the citizen by the manifold quirks, errors, follies and outright oppressions of government and leave him freer to flourish and prosper without his government getting in his way.

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
