On 04/07/2023 in Liverpool, doctors of the BMA unanimously passed a vote of no confidence in the GMC and its leadership due to its behaviour towards doctors under investigation. [Read more]
According to data published by the GMC in December 2020, 29 doctors died whilst under GMC investigations and 7 committed suicide. [Read more]
Moreover, the GMC reported on 14/11/2013 that 128 doctors had died and at least 28 suicided under prolonged, laborious and draconian GMC investigations from 2005-2013.[Read more]
This is a huge loss for the patients and country of qualified, highly skilled and experienced doctors whilst 8 million patients are on waiting lists.
The GMC conduct neither protects patients, the public nor the medical profession and it should be abolished.
The GMC refuses to provide data on the doctors who died and committed suicide under GMC investigations from 2013-2018 and from 2020 until 2023 despite several Freedom of Information Act requests.
The motion passed in all parts on 04/07/2023 unanimously agreed that current Medical Regulator in U.K. must be discarded and replaced by a new, honest & compassionate Regulator so as to safeguard health professionals, the medical profession, patients and the public.
The motion said that Fitness to Practice decisions made by the GMC and the Medical Professional Tribunal (MPTS) are biased, disproportionate and discriminatory. The doctors association and representatives demanded GMC leadership be dismissed with immediate effect and replaced by a more honest team willing and able to protect the medical profession and health professionals for the benefit of patients and the public.
The GMC, it should be noted, is also involved in the investment of the annual subscriptions of 350,000 registered doctors in fast food chains, fizzy drinks, ice creams and other businesses.
