The People’s Manifesto – Part Eight

No more false or broken promises

by Steve Cook

It shall be established in law that a political party’s manifesto is a solemn promise of intent and, if that party forms the government, becomes a binding contract.

It shall be mandatory tat any political party’s manifesto must include a clear statement of

what new laws it will enact

what exiting laws it intends to amend (with specifics)

what exiting laws it intends to repeal

What actions or measures it will take within existing laws.

If elected, that party MUST then enact the laws it promised to enact,  repeal the laws it promised to repeal, make the specific amendments it promised to make and take the specific actions it promised it would  take.

So  for example if a party promises to reduce a tax by 5% if elected it shall be legally bound to  reduce the specified tax by 5%.

If upon being elected a party discovers that it cannot deliver take any of the specific actions it promised, it must the submit to a new election where it can present to the People its revised manifesto.

A political party once in power may not enter into and domestic actions, foreign treaties or armed conflicts not specifically stated in its manifesto.

Moreover, a government may not under any circumstances enter into any treaties, contracts or agreements with an entities domestic or foreign that surrender any sovereignty or authority or power of decision-making to any other entity than the People via their elected government. Any attempt so to do shall result in the arrest and trial of those persons who instigated or enacted such measures on a charge of Treason.

Similarly it shall be a punishable offence for any person to propose or  campaign for any violation, negation or cancellation of the above laws.

Should an emergency arise demanding speedy actions not specified in the governing party’s manifesto, such as for instance a attack on the nation by a foreign power, once the emergency is over, a fully open  public inquiry shall be held to establish:

whether the emergency was as claimed

whether the emergency response was justified

whether any lies or false  reports were uttered and by whom.

The principle here is that it is unacceptable for a political party to break its promises, make false promises so as to get into power or engage in actions or policies for which it has no received authorisation or permission from the People.

Those days of political dishonesty are over.

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
