“Within weeks”
STEVE WATSON
The UK government is “within weeks” going to approve demented geoengineering experiments at a cost of £50 million to reflect sunlight away from Earth, according to reports.
What could possibly go wrong?
The UK’s Advanced Research and Invention Agency (Aria) is funding trials in an effort to make the UK one of the world’s leading authorities on geoengineering research, the Daily Mail and others report.
It’s May next week and in the UK it’s cold and cloudy and raining. People are paying hundreds of pounds a month to heat small homes. Yet here comes the government saying they’re going to spend £50 million on blocking out The Sun… https://t.co/zS887uXu51 Absolutely DERANGED.

The reports outline that the experiments will focus on Sunlight Reflection Methods (SRM), including Stratospheric Aerosol Injection (SAI) and Marine Cloud Brightening (MCB).
SAI involves injecting tiny reflective particles, such as sulphur dioxide, into the stratosphere to mimic the cooling effect of volcanic eruptions, while MCB uses ships to spray sea-salt particles into low-lying clouds to enhance their reflectivity.
They cite evidence from emissions on shipping routes and volcanic eruptions, like the 2014 Iceland event, suggesting these methods could temporarily cool the planet by reflecting sunlight back into space.
Professor Jim Haywood from the University of Exeter highlighted the potential of these techniques, noting that ship emissions have historically brightened clouds, creating a dimming effect. However, the 2020 reduction in sulphur dioxide emissions from shipping led to a spike in warming, underscoring the complex balance of such interventions.
Aria’s programme, led by Professor Mark Symes, will include small-scale, controlled outdoor tests to gather critical real-world data. These trials aim to assess whether SRM can prevent catastrophic climate tipping points, such as the collapse of ocean currents or ice sheets. Alongside outdoor experiments, the programme will fund climate monitoring, modelling studies, indoor tests, and public attitude surveys, the report further notes.
Potential side effects of geoengineering include regional droughts, crop failures, or shifts in weather patterns. A 2015 study by the Geomar Helmholtz Centre suggested that even combined geoengineering methods might not prevent temperatures from rising beyond 2°C by 2100, and abrupt cessation could trigger rapid warming, known as “termination shock.”
It’s clear that geoengineering experiments have already been underway for years, now that climate alarmism has been relentlessly pushed for decades, it’s been deemed acceptable to disclose this particular plan to the public.
In the U.S. some States, in addition to Federal government agencies under the Trump administration are seeking bans on such radical geoengineering activity.

UK Govt Poised To Approve Sun-Blocking Experiments To Fight ‘Runaway Climate Change’
Whether they like it or not, climate activists are trying to play God with the weather.
I’d honestly like to know how these climate change activists and their groups get the support of politicians and lobbyists for things that are clearly more harmful to the environment than helpful, if you believe in climate change.
According to the U.K. outlet The Telegraph, their government appears to be on the cusp of greenlighting experiments to block out the sun, or “dim sunlight,” to “prevent runaway climate change.”
The Telegraph reported:
“Outdoor field trials which could include injecting aerosols into the atmosphere, or brightening clouds to reflect sunshine, are being considered by scientists as a way to prevent runaway climate change.[…]
Geoengineering projects which seek to artificially alter the climate have proven controversial, with critics arguing they could bring damaging knock-on effects, as well as being an unhelpful distraction from lowering emissions.”
Okay, so…am I the only one who remembers back in the 1990s that climate activists told us that aerosols were harmful to the environment?
I remember more than one movie making fun of that point by going outside and spraying hairspray into the air.
Groups have even published studies as recently as 2023 saying how aerosols can be deemed “hazardous waste” if not disposed of properly, but do note the benefit of blocking sunlight that, in turn, could cool the surface.
However, isn’t the fact that aerosols [can] block out sunlight counterproductive to “saving the planet,” especially considering how many living organisms, including human beings, need sunlight to survive?
Humans can tolerate sunlight deprivation more than most other living things, but sunlight is essential to mental health and as a source of Vitamin D.
And think of the sentence used, “Geoengineering projects which seek to artificially alter the climate have proven controversial…”
They are admitting, whether they like it or not, that these climate people are trying to play God with the weather.
Something in me thinks this won’t work out well if implemented.

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
