And the Police Offer No Help
JOHN SURTEES
At the heart of the British resistance stands Tommy Robinson, whose impact transcends mere identity. Robinson is a patriot, a freedom fighter, and an unyielding thorn in the side of an establishment that has long prioritised the woke agenda over the safety and values of the British people. On February 13, Robinson announced that he had been forced to flee the United Kingdom, driven into exile by credible death threats from Islamist extremists linked to ISIS. This shocking development is not just a personal tragedy for a man who has dedicated his life to exposing uncomfortable truths; it is a harbinger of a dystopian future where free speech is silenced by fear, and where Islamist fanatics dictate the boundaries of public discourse. Unless the British people rise up and demand change, this exile could become the norm for anyone daring to challenge ideologies supported by the western establishment.
The weak response from authorities, coupled with suspicions of ulterior motives tied to Robinson’s upcoming major rally in May, underscores a deeper crisis in our nation’s commitment to liberty and security. Moreover, such events inevitably fuel broader fears and resentment toward Islam as a whole, eroding social cohesion and playing into the hands of those who seek division (i.e. the Establishment).
Born in Luton in 1982, Robinson rose to prominence as the founder of the English Defence League (EDL) in 2009, a grassroots movement born out of frustration with unchecked radical Islamism in working-class communities. Far from the caricatures painted by his detractors, Robinson’s activism has focused on exposing the horrors of grooming gangs, those networks of predominantly Pakistani Muslim men who preyed on vulnerable young girls across towns like Rotherham, Rochdale, and Telford. His investigative journalism, including documentaries like “Silenced,” has brought to light shameful, systemic failures where authorities turned a blind eye to or even colluded in these atrocities. Robinson’s courage in confronting these issues has made him a hero to many ordinary Britons who feel abandoned by the elite. He has endured imprisonment, assaults, and relentless media smears, yet he persists because he believes in a Britain where truth prevails over appeasement. As a freedom fighter, he embodies the spirit of those who stand against tyranny, much like historical figures who challenged oppressive forces in defence of their homeland.
The events leading to Robinson’s exile began on February 12, when Bedfordshire Police contacted him with alarming intelligence. His name had appeared in “Yalghar” (or “Yalgaar”), a publication produced by the Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP), an affiliate of ISIS designated as a proscribed terrorist organization in the UK – though there is alarming evidence that MI6 has working links with them. This magazine, akin to Al-Qaeda’s infamous “Inspire,” explicitly encouraged violence against him, marking him as a target for jihadist attacks. The police officer on the call confirmed the threat’s credibility, sourced from counter-terrorism units, and advised basic safeguarding measures but which stopped well short of anything substantive. No armed protection was offered, no safe house provided, and no relocation assistance beyond vague suggestions. Robinson, in an audio recording of the call shared on X, expressed his frustration: he was essentially told to fend for himself in a country where self-defence is heavily restricted.
The very next day, February 13, Robinson announced his departure from the UK, stating that remaining would endanger not only himself but his family and those around him. By February 14, he released a video from what appeared to be Alicante Airport in Spain, detailing the ordeal and his indefinite exile. This was not his first brush with such threats; in May 2025, he recounted previous warnings from security services about imminent jihadi attacks, where he was simply advised to “leave the area” without further support. In July 2025, he fled to Tenerife amid legal battles and violence in London. But this latest incident feels like a culmination, forcing a man who loves his country to abandon it for survival.
The police response in this case warrants sharp criticism for its inadequacy and apparent indifference. Bedfordshire Police confirmed the call’s authenticity and reiterated that they provided “safeguarding advice and support.” Yet, what does this mean in practice? Address markers and monitoring are bureaucratic band-aids, not real protection against determined terrorists. Contrast this with the case of Salman Rushdie, who received millions in government-funded security after the 1989 fatwa against him. Why the disparity? We all know why. The Establishment hates him and would love to see him dead – during the call, the officer explicitly cautioned against self-defence: “It doesn’t authorise you to carry weapons, anything like that, take any pre-emptive action against others.” Robinson clarified he couldn’t even wear body armour in public or arm himself, limited only to his private home, leaving Tommy defenceless.
This weak policing is symptomatic of a broader failure: an establishment more concerned with imposing its woke agenda than protecting its citizens. Robinson has long accused authorities of prioritising appeasement, as seen in the grooming scandals where police ignored victims, or even returned them to their abusers – a crime against humanity in my view. The refusal to provide meaningful protection – or even allow self-protection – sends a chilling message: speak out against radical Islam at your own peril. Supporters on X have decried this as state abandonment, with some demanding government intervention akin to Rushdie’s. many think, as I do, that the police response reflects a deliberate policy of non-intervention, allowing threats to self-censor dissenting voices.
One cannot ignore the timing of this threat and its potential as a deliberate plot to sideline Robinson ahead of his major rally planned for May 16, 2026. Billed as the “Unite the Kingdom” or “Unite the West” event, this national unity march – which I hope we will all attend – in London aims to be the largest demonstration of British strength ever, uniting the four nations under the slogan “Four Nations. One Kingdom Under God.” Following the success of his September 2025 rally, which drew over a million people, this May event promises to rally patriots against immigration policies, radical Islamism, and establishment corruption. Anti-racist groups are already mobilizing counter-protests, viewing it as a threat to their narrative. Is it coincidence that a high-profile threat emerges just months before? Robinson has faced bans and deportations from countries like Colombia, Panama, and Mexico, which he attributes to UK government interference. Could this ISIS-linked warning be amplified – or even orchestrated – to force him out, preventing him from leading what could be a pivotal moment for conservative resurgence? The question demands scrutiny; if true, it reveals a sinister alliance between state actors and extremists to suppress opposition. It would not surprise me at all.
The implications of Robinson’s exile extend far beyond one man. It signals a future where Islamist fanatics hold veto power over free speech. If a prominent voice like Robinson can be driven out, what hope for the average citizen? Britain risks becoming a nation where criticism of violent Islamist ideologies is met with violence, unchecked by authorities. This not only stifles debate but erodes the foundational principles of democracy. Islamist extremists cannot be allowed to dictate what we can and cannot say; to concede this is to surrender our sovereignty. The British people must recognise this as a call to arms – not literal, but political. Conservative leadership, in particular, has a duty to champion reforms: stronger anti-terror laws, better protection for whistleblowers, and a re-evaluation of immigration policies that import threats, but has any major political figure on the Right spoken out in support of Tommy Robinson. Not that I’ve heard.
Such incidents inevitably heighten fear and hatred of Islam generally, a tragic but predictable outcome. While Robinson distinguishes between peaceful Muslims and radicals, the failure to address extremism paints the entire faith with a broad brush. Media reports of threats like Yalghar fuel entirely understandable perceptions that Islam is incompatible with Western values, leading to increased division. In 2025, Robinson reported Muslims threatened to track him down after his location was leaked, amplifying these fears. This cycle benefits no one except extremist both in the mosques and in government who thrive on polarisation. There is no prospect I can see of the authorities taking appropriate action. It’s up to us.
As Robinson solicits donations for security via Urban Scoop, suggestions abound for him to seek asylum in the US or Israel, where self-defence is valued. But exile is no solution; it’s a defeat. The British people must take action: support patriotic movements, vote for those who prioritise security, and demand accountability from police and politicians. Conservative figures should lead this charge, advocating for policies that protect free speech and combat extremism without apology.
In conclusion, Tommy Robinson’s forced flight is a stark warning: without intervention, Britain faces a future of silenced voices and unchecked fanaticism. As a patriot and freedom fighter, Robinson’s plight embodies the struggle for our nation’s soul. Let this be the catalyst for change – before it’s too late. The May rally could be a turning point if we rally behind it. Islamist dictates must end; the British spirit must prevail.

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
