The Selfish Youth

Someone asked if I actually like old and poorly people because I mentioned that the statistics for deaths without other causes in the UK is barely over a thousand.

Here’s my response.

I like them very much indeed!

I like them enough to ask why the fuck the government has been pushing a diet that leads to obesity and cancer more than any other diet in the world.

I like them enough to ask how many killed themselves through depression during this period.

I like them enough to trust that they would like the option of seeing their loved ones and risking death a year earlier than spend months and months in isolation.

I’ve met a lot of old people over the last couple of months and almost all of them would prefer to just get on and live life as they are going to die anyway. It’s only the selfish kids that have wanted them to hide away out of fear.

I care enough to ask why those who actually had it already were sent from hospitals into retirement homes where it could, essentially, be left to cull those close to death already.

I like them enough to value their freedom to choose life and to live it as they wish.

What about you? Do you like the old and the poorly enough to fight for reforms in the food industry? To question why the World Health Organisation has already admitted that the pyramid scheme of diet with carbs being the majority of each dish is inherently wrong and has lead to obesity and cancer on a truly pandemic scale? In the UK alone over 1000 people dies every single day from obesity. There were about 540,000 deaths from it in 2019 alone.

Meanwhile, the WHO has reduced the “safe” threshold for blood sugar three times in the last 20 years, leading to a massive rise in people taking drugs for type II diabetes. Still, no full address on diet and nutrition. In fact, France has made it illegal for anyone who isn’t medically trained to give nutritional advice.

So, do I care? A heck of a lot more than most, it would seem.

And while we are on the subject of caring:

What about the homeless? Months without anyone to beg from or busk to.

Or victims of domestic abuse? I know a couple of people who work in this field with court cases and support and the number suffering from abuse has more than doubled.

What about cancer sufferers? There’s now an additional 2 million cases that haven’t been seen and diagnosed. Further, lack of diagnosis means that a good proportion of those will die because treatment comes too late. In fact, the NHS stands to have an additional 8 million on its waiting lists by winter so how many of those will die because the treatment comes too late?

So, look past what the quivering media and government are feeding the nations and be willing to think for yourself with available information.

The government is just made up of people. They aren’t a special breed with superpowers and unimaginable intelligence (not in most cases, at least).

Nor are the medical advisers. Bear in mind that the pandemic model used to predict the numbers for this was created by the same guy who predicted that foot and mouth would kill a thousand times more than it actually did. A. Thousand. Times. More.
