ER Editor: Two articles from RT France and The Guardian on the re-opening of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.
Notre Dame is a very big deal, it seems. The cathedral was set alight 5 and a half years ago in broad daylight – in itself, a highly improbable, almost impossible event under normal circumstances given the density of the ancient wooden beams. Nobody has ever been held responsible. Here’s the short video showing somebody on top of the roof around 5pm on the evening of April 15, 2019 —
It was a fire in which nobody got hurt as we recall. Then ensued a massive fuss over its reconstruction, with all sorts of harebrained schemes being advanced such as eco gardens or theme-park concepts. Here was a typical title (see Notre Dame for more) —

After all that, it seems to have been restored to some original, dignified glory, which perhaps was the idea all along. Recall that curious shot of Michelle Obama drinking from a wine glass in which the image of Notre Dame was reflected?
To us this echoes the Satanic Olympic Games – the opening and closing ceremonies that were understandably upsetting for many. Only after the opening ceremony on July 26 2024, in the full darkness of night with the lights out in just ONE area of Paris, the white basilica of Sacre Coeur shone across the landscape. This was perhaps the key feature of the night that got drowned out in the apparent depravity of the earlier ceremony. Symbolism on steroids.
Who would be behind this? We feel the same hand at work with Notre Dame. It, perhaps, needed almost as much cleaning out as the Vatican …

This is sure to be a stand-in for Trump. The white hat military wouldn’t risk anything at this stage —

The refurbishment has done nothing to alter Notre Dame’s original character, apparently —

We are going to find out something very interesting about the frequency of these massive bells. Everything has significance —
Have you ever heard the bells in the cathedral of Notre-Dame in Paris? I hadn’t until I saw this video. It was recorded the day before the massive fire broke out on the roof and collapsed the spire.
So hauntingly beautiful…

Trump in Paris: president-elect set to attend Notre Dame reopening
The US president-elect will join 50 heads of state for reopening of historic French cathedral, in his first overseas trip since winning the election
ASSOCIATED PRESS via THE GUARDIAN
US president-elect Donald Trump will attend the reopening celebration for Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris this weekend, his first foreign trip since winning the election.
The historic cathedral is set to reopen on Saturday after more than five years of reconstruction following a devastating fire in 2019 that engulfed and nearly destroyed the soaring Paris landmark. The ceremonies being held on Saturday and Sunday will be high-security affairs, with about 50 heads of state and government expected to attend.
Trump announced that he will be among them in a post on his Truth Social site on Monday evening.
“It is an honor to announce that I will be traveling to Paris, France, on Saturday to attend the re-opening of the Magnificent and Historic Notre Dame Cathedral, which has been fully restored after a devastating fire five years ago,” he wrote. “President Emmanuel Macron has done a wonderful job ensuring that Notre Dame has been restored to its full level of glory, and even more so. It will be a very special day for all!”
The trip will be Trump’s first abroad since he won November’s presidential election.
A massive fire engulfed Notre Dame in 2019, collapsing its spire and threatening to destroy one of the world’s greatest architectural treasures, known for its stained glass.
Trump, who was in office at the time, offered some advice to the French authorities.
“So horrible to watch the massive fire at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris,” he wrote on Twitter.
“Perhaps flying water tankers could be used to put it out. Must act quickly!”
French officials appeared to respond shortly after, noting that “All means” were being used to extinguish the flames, “except for water-bombing aircrafts which, if used, could lead to the collapse of the entire structure of the cathedral.”
…
The reopening of Notre Dame will be an elaborate, multi-day celebration, beginning on Saturday.
Paris Archbishop Laurent Ulrich will preside at a reopening service that afternoon, banging on Notre Dame’s shuttered doors with his staff to reopen them, according to the cathedral’s website.
Macron will attend and address the VIP guests. After the service, opera singers Pretty Yende, from South Africa, and Julie Fuchs, from France; Chinese pianist Lang Lang; Paris-born cellist Yo-Yo Ma; Benin-born singer Angelique Kidjo; Lebanese singer Hiba Tawaji and others will perform at a concert Saturday evening, according to the show’s broadcaster, France Télévisions.
On Sunday morning, the Paris archbishop will lead an inaugural Mass and consecration of the new altar.
Île de la Cité, where the cathedral sits in the middle of the River Seine, will be blocked off to tourists for the events. A public viewing area with room for 40,000 spectators will be set up along the Seine’s southern bank.

A security measure worthy of the Olympics for the reopening of Notre Dame de Paris
RT France
The French authorities have put in place exceptional arrangements for the reopening of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris on December 7 and 8. Thousands of police officers will be mobilized to secure the event.
After five years of work following a fire in 2019, Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris is set to reopen its doors on December 7 and 8. An exceptional security detail will be deployed throughout the capital.
On December 1, Police Prefect Laurent Nuñez spoke to Le Parisien about the arrangements, saying: “Geographically speaking, it’s a small part of the Olympic opening ceremony”. The senior civil servant also referred to the mobilization of thousands of law enforcement officers, and said he would use the Olympic ceremony “for the management of ceremonies […] and regulatory security measures”.
A context of high terrorist threat
Laurent Nuñez also spoke of a “very high level of terrorist threat, as during the Olympics”, while asserting that to his knowledge “there has been no […] characterized threat to the event”. The Prefect of Police also specified that the Brigade de recherche et d’intervention (BRI) would be in “intervention reserve”, i.e. ready to mobilize, and that “precision shooters” would carry out “surveillance on high points”.
Aware of the widespread public interest in the cathedral’s reopening, the prefecture has scheduled a press conference for December 2, attended by the spokesman for the Bishops Conference of France, Monsignor Olivier Ribadeau Dumas, and representatives of the city of Paris, to explain the procedure to be followed for the reopening.

During the festivities on December 7 and 8, over 40,000 people are expected to gather in the area around the cathedral, mainly on the quays surrounding the church. Only invited guests, including some fifty heads of state, will be allowed access to the forecourt and the building – a maximum of 3,000 people.
After a fire five years ago, the cause of which is still unknown, the Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral and its restoration have been the subject of much controversy, notably the political choices surrounding its reconstruction, but also more recently the hypothesis of introducing paid admission to this place of worship.

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
