Tony Blair Institute keeping Net Zero on track

Long-suffering people may be in no mood for more ‘green’ purgatory, but the received wisdom of climate catastrophism has not shifted in the political class, educational facilities or mainstream media. Last week, for example, the Daily Telegtaph criticised energy secretary Ed Milliband’s radical policy, but it uncritically accepts manmade climate change and the need to replace oil and gas with renewables. Indeed, it offered a column to the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change to keep the faith.

The article, written by Tone Langingen, senior energy policy advisor for Blair’s illustrious lobby group (which advises governments in pursuit of global technocratic goals), expressed concern for the poor people. Transition to Net Zero is absolutely the right thing to do, but loosen the ratchet, she urged. This outpouring of kindness is because Langingen perceives the lack of public consent. ‘It feels like an ever-rising levy’, she suggests, but let me correct that: Net Zero is an ever-rising levy in fact, not merely in feeling.
The Tony Blair Institute must be aware that people are waking up to their impoverishment, and Langingen took note of the governor of the Bank of England warning that Net Zero is harming industry and curbing growth. Meanwhile ‘Orange Man’ in the White House decries the economic suicide of the British government in prohibiting drilling in the North Sea (while the USA is enriched by shale gas, particularly since the Nordstream pipeline sabotage).
For all the promise of cheaper green power, household costs continue to steepen, as the contrived climate crisis cause a cost of living crisis. Langingen, though, wants to throw more Net Zero money after bad: –
The Warm Homes Plan is an ambitious step towards lowering costs, but requires substantial public spending, and its success will depend on whether it’s backed by effective policy that genuinely drives take-up. A digital one-stop shop for household electrification – bringing together advice, subsidies and trusted suppliers – would help ensure personalised and clear guidance.
In other words, get your boiler ripped out, have a hopelessly ineffectual heat pump installed in its place, and pay higher taxes to fund the same damage to be inflicted on every home. All to facilitate live energy use surveillance and rationing by the nice-and-warm elite.
Reform of the electricity market is necessary, according to Langingen. Zonal pricing should be introduced, which really means penalising heavy usage, the tax receipts to be poured into further ‘green’ investment. She blames ‘hidden costs’ such as levies and standing charges that deprive residents of the dividend from falling wholesale prices. But if she and colleagues at the Tony Blair Institute cared about affordability, they would take a look at themselves in the mirror and ask: ‘are we the baddies’. They must have at least an inkling of knowledge that this is an almighty scam.
Green zealots have not been having an easy time recently. Bill Gates, internationally-renowned expert in health, farming and ecology, admitted that the climate crisis is overblown. Langingen regrets such reversal: –
Some voices argue that the simple answer is to weaken Britain’s climate commitments altogether, including the framework set out in the Climate Change Act. That would be a mistake.
Langingen didn’t bother to explain why abandoning Net Zero would be so mistaken. ‘The science is settled’, we are told by the BBC, Wikipedia and graduates with student loan debts but a potential career in climate research. Truth is whatever our masters say is true, and scientists know on which side their bread is buttered. .
Net Zero could be made less painful for households, but the mission continues. All that trhe Tony Blair Institute is conceding is a lighter load till 2030, while the ultimate destination will be reached by 2050 as previously planned. Langingen pretends to care, but she is a well-rewarded collaborator in a global extortion racket.

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
