MIGRATION WATCH UK

The Modern Slavery Act 2015 was passed to protect genuine victims of human trafficking, but has long since morphed into a get-into-Britain-free card frequently abused by well-coached migrants.
Section 45 of the Act provides a statutory defence for victims forced into crimes by their exploiters. As we warned, illegal immigrants exploit this section to frustrate their removal, with almost 75% of asylum seekers detained crossing the Channel claiming to be a potential modern slave.
Meanwhile, between 2019 and 2020, about 4,100 immigration detainees used trafficking claims to stall deportation – yet only 5% were confirmed as genuine victims. That means the vast majority were false claims: a blatant abuse to buy time and undermine enforcement.
In 2023, the Home Office found that 92 per cent of modern slavery claims were signed off and 99.5 per cent of all people making such claims were eventually released from detention. While some of these claims will have been genuine the threshold of proof for a successful claim has become absurdly low.
Still, some activist groups argue that any migrant who claims to have been trafficked should automatically be allowed to stay. They portray tough scrutiny of such claims as cruel, effectively insisting each claimant be taken at their word. This naive stance invites abuse and betrays true victims. Every bogus claim obstructs justice and cheapens the suffering of real trafficking survivors.
We can all agree that modern slavery is vile and unacceptable, but well-meaning legislation intended to oppose it has just become a boon to illegal immigration. The government must restore integrity with assiduous weeding out of false claims, so genuine victims are protected and bogus applicants identified, detained and deported. The Act should remain a shield for the vulnerable – not a loophole for criminals and migrants intent on flouting our laws.

This week, we suggest you write to your MP about the recent spate of appalling violent crimes linked to illegal immigrants. You can write anything you like, but we have provided a template below for your convenience. Simply copy the text, paste it into an email, delete and replace any red text, and send.
You can verify your local MP here: https://members.parliament.uk/FindYourMP.
“Dear [DELETE AND TYPE NAME OF MP HERE],
I am one of your constituents, living at [DELETE AND TYPE ADDRESS HERE].
There have been a series of disturbing events in recent weeks involving men who, by all accounts, should never have been allowed into the country — let alone given the freedom to roam the streets and commit horrific crimes.
You will no doubt be aware of the innocent man stabbed to death in Uxbridge by an Afghan national who entered the UK illegally in the back of a lorry, and of the Sudanese asylum seeker convicted of murdering an asylum hotel worker with a screwdriver. There was also the Somali small-boat migrant convicted of murdering a father of three in a random, unprovoked attack in Derby.
To me, it makes no sense to admit dangerous — and in some cases disturbed — individuals simply because their backstories cannot be disproved, given that it is often impossible to verify them. We might as well declare an open border and issue a blanket invitation to all. This situation is dangerous and grossly unfair to innocent people like me and my family, who ultimately pay the price for the lack of effective border control.
Reform of our asylum system is urgently needed, and I would urge you, as my representative, to do everything within your power to bring this about. It is the right of every British citizen to be kept safe, and for their government not to expose them to needless risk and danger. Preventing unvetted asylum seekers from moving freely while their questionable applications are being processed would be a good start.
I would be grateful if you could please write to the Home Secretary calling for this change. If you believe that the risk posed by asylum seekers to the general public while their applications are pending is insignificant, I would appreciate it if you could explain why.
Kind regards,
[DELETE AND TYPE YOUR NAME HERE]
If you receive a response from your MP and are comfortable sharing it, please forward it on to us – we are always interested!

Media Campaigns Manager for the TaxPayers’ Alliance, William Yarwood, points out the huge sums being spent on accommodation for migrants.
Hotel contractors are raking it in from the illegal migrant crisis with 10 year contract costs exploding from £4.5bn to £15.3bn.
Let’s be honest about what this is: profiteering off of people who shouldn’t be here, at the expense of British taxpayers. pic.twitter.com/n8CDcx7rSP

And independent journalist Max Tempers responds to the Chief Inspector of Prisons, Charlie Taylor, who is advocating for increased prison officer recruitment from West Africa following a major government recruitment campaign in the region to keep down wages.
Our prison officer recruiting regime is absolutely scandalous, and it shouldn’t be absurd to suggest we turn the clock back on this visa regime all the way back to… 2023.
This is a ‘dependency’ that has been created in under three years and should be as quickly unwound. https://t.co/NZTkwYGWNd pic.twitter.com/55HXzqfdcn

Finally, political commentator Charlie Cole shares a question from a concerned parent who is worried adult migrants have been placed in her daughter’s school:
Very real possibility here that this school has taken in an illegal migrant.
A lot of them claim to be under 18 and because the Home Office doesn’t undertake scientific age verification methods, adult ‘asylum seekers’ can be placed in schools. pic.twitter.com/xuicwfpkwZ

Writer and activist David Shipley has published a sobering article on migrant crime in the Telegraph:
“But these men are not here by chance. Since Rhiannon’s murder 45,556 migrants have crossed the Channel in small boats. In most cases we know nothing of their backgrounds, of what crimes they may have committed in their home countries, or even how old they are. Deng Majek has given dates of birth suggesting that he is either 19 or 27.
He, and hundreds of thousands more like him, are here because of choices. Every single crime committed by asylum seekers is a result of choices.
The choices of open-borders fanatics in charities and NGOs to transport migrants, coach them on how to claim asylum and fund their legal battles to stay. The choices of judges to resist any effort to control our borders. And ultimately because a succession of politicians have chosen the appearance of kindness over the safety of our people. As a result of these choices, Rhiannon Whyte is dead and her son is an orphan.“
And former US diplomat Simon Hankinson, also in the Telegraph, has warned of the likely futures facing Britain unless mass migration is halted:
“Absent radical changes, with current migration and fertility trends, the demographic future of Britain could be for the indigenous people to be a minority within a generation or two. In that case, I see two likely scenarios for Britain’s future.
The best case is akin to the United Arab Emirates, where a native population controls the land, wealth, and politics, while vastly outnumbered by a non-Arab clerical and labour class.
Or Britain could end up like Lebanon, where no dominant political force or culture holds things together at the centre. Enclaves of prosperity and even comfort remain, but without the unifying history, faith, and collective identity that forms a strong nation.
To avoid either fate will require both massively reducing legal channels of immigration and ending asylum abuse. Parliament has the power to do both.”

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
