The Hidden Truth About Asylum-Seeker Crime

The hidden truth about asylum-seeker crime

BRUCE NEWSOME

YES, asylum-seekers really are more criminal than Britons. Yes, this is news. True, we already knew that foreigners in general are more criminal than Britons. The latest investigative reporting from the Daily Telegraph (other journalistic outlets still need to rediscover ‘investigative’) proves that asylum seekers are just as over-represented in crime in their first weeks in this country as are foreigners who have dwelt here indefinitely.

This refutes a common apologism: that foreign propensity to crime is invented, and caused, by racism towards immigrants. The United Nations has accused British police and courts of ‘institutional racism’ towards immigrants, and criticised a supposed culture of misinformation about immigrants.

In Britain itself, groups such as ‘Stand Up To Racism’ rush to oppose protesters outside asylum hotels, explicitly accusing them of racism. Ironically, the counter-protesters are more likely to resort to racism and violence.

The apologist theory for immigrant crime is that immigrants are more likely than Britons to be the victims of crime (from racist protesters, particularly), and to react in ways that could be construed as criminal (such as defending themselves against racism), and to be criminalised by a racist judicial system. Under the apologist theory, immigrants do not have a higher propensity than Britons towards crime, they’re just more likely than Britons to be criminalised.

Certainly, some immigrants are attacked by racists, such as the self-admitted neo-Nazi white-supremacist who got inside an asylum hotel with the mission of stabbing the first asylum-seeker he could find. Fortunately, the victim survived.

The mainstream media tend to amplify racist attacks on asylum-seekers. At the same time police, courts and mainstream media tend to cover up crimes by asylum-seekers.

In the last week of July, two Afghan asylum-seekers were charged with kidnapping, choking and raping a 12-year-old girl in Nuneaton. Warwickshire Police advised local councillors and officials not to disclose the perpetrators’ background for fear of ‘inflaming community tensions’.

The police initiated a familiar process. The criminal court that indicts the defendants advises attendees on what they can say about the case outside court. When police and journalists report a rape, they say the defendant cannot be identified for ‘legal reasons’.

Such cover-ups don’t help the theory of racist institutions criminalising asylum-seekers. Also counting against the theory: prior cover-ups over decades of mostly immigrant Muslim gangs who kidnapped, drugged, and raped mostly white girls. Policemen were allegedly among the rapists and involved in the cover-up. Yet the government refused a national inquiry.

Indeed, on this evidence, institutional racism is pro-Muslim, pro-immigrant, anti-white, anti-British.

Also counting against the apologist theory is the fact that the government spent decades denying the existence of any data on crime by nationality. When investigative reporters finally received some data (thanks to leaks and repeated Freedom of Information requests), we learned that more than one in eight prisoners in England and Wales is foreign. More than one in ten of imprisoned sexual criminals, and more than one in ten of those imprisoned for violence against the person, are foreign. Foreigners are particularly over-represented in sex crimes. Some of the multiples are staggering: for instance, Afghan immigrants are 20 times more likely than Britons to commit sex crimes. Forty per cent of sexual assaults in London are perpetrated by foreign nationals.

Foreign propensity to crime is not a reaction to white racism. The propensity runs high among newly arrived foreigners claiming asylum. The government will not admit crime data for this year until half-way through next year, but the Telegraph has a solution. It studied court records for any mention of any of 50 asylum hotels. It found that 211 residents were indicted from January to July this year, for 425 charges. That’s 8.5 indictments per hotel, more than one indictment per month per hotel. The allegations are disproportionately serious. The charges include 44 sexual offences (12 against children) and 109 violent offences, i.e. 10 per cent of the offences are sexual, another 25 per cent are violent. I suspect these are underestimates, given that police, public defenders and courts tend to cover up the country of origin of criminals (supposedly for fear of ‘inflaming ethnic tensions’).

A surge in illegal immigration since 2020 helps to explain a surge in crime, particularly violent crimes, in the same period. In 2024, violence-with-injury crimes went up 49 per cent. More than 2million violent crimes were recorded in 2024, up from 634,000 ten years ago. Of the 2million offences, 50,000 were knife crimes. Knife-related deaths rose 240 per cent in ten years. Knife crime in London has surged by 58.5 per cent in the three years to 2024. Rapes and sexual assaults have risen 300 per cent since 2012. In 2024, the number of foreign nationals in prison for violent offences went up 9 per cent on the previous year to a record 3,250.

This is going to get worse. Illegal immigration continues to rise. The government claims to want to reduce it, but avoids the necessary changes in international law, human rights and welfare benefits. Uncontrolled immigration favours young men (if only because they are better able to navigate the physical challenges), who are already willing to break the law to get here, most of whom come from violent societies, none of whom are vetted before they are bussed to the hotels, and none of whom are supervised.

In other words, uncontrolled immigration favours all the propensities to crime.

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)

  1. When I, a white family Brit., am accused of being ‘far right’ for no apparent reason, why don’t the Police arrest Starmer for publicly “inflaming community tensions”? Two Tier? Just doing their job?
