Starmer to Shift Migrants to Barracks

.

ER Editor: The next episode in the UK’s migrant hotels soap opera (reminder: deputy PM Angela Rayner just quit, another soap opera).

Some interesting Twitter reaction, which overall suggests this could be YET ANOTHER way of running the government with a minus 59 popularity rating into a brick wall. “Let me count the ways …”

Worth a peruse —

Back to 2020 —

And 2024, at RAF Scampton. We’re guessing this relocation never happened —

Do you ever feel like things are simply going round in circles?

Starmer to Shift Migrants to Barracks

Amid rising pressure to address illegal migration, the UK PM plans to shift asylum-seeking military-age males from hotels to disused military sites.

TEC NEWS

The UK government plans to move illegal Channel crossers from migrant hotels to disused army barracks as part of an effort to address the growing migrant crisis, with Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood expected to announce the policy soon.

The UK is close to a migrant return deal with Germany after agreeing one with France. Prime Minister Starmer reshuffled the Home Office after appointing Shabana Mahmood as Home Secretary. On her first day, over 1,000 migrants crossed the Channel, but figures for ‘small boat’ crossings have already hit new records under Starmer

A source close to Ms. Mahmood told the Telegraph:

Her position is going to be ‘nothing is off the table’ … We know the big problems that we face.

“Bringing down net migration and tackling illegal migration is one of the public’s key priorities and it’s one of our key priorities,” another source told the newspaper.

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
