Starmer admits: UK is antisemitic hellhole

The UK is now a hostile environment for Jews.

What to do if you are a British Jew? It’s a tough one. I live in Ireland which is ground zero in pro – Palestinian madness but Britain was always different. It was Britain, led by Prime Minister Churchill, who stood alone against the Nazis while Europe fell, domino style, one by one. Ireland remained neutral.

This makes watching the rising antisemitism, fuelled by Islamic extremism and facilitated by so many on the left, which has engulfed Britain more than worrying. It is shocking. It is important not to exaggerate when talking about this, it is critical not to catastrophize. But I do remember reading author Judith Kerr’s book, When Hitler Stole the Pink Rabbit, explaining how she escaped Nazi Germany as a child.

Judith Kerr was born in Berlin in 1923. Her father, Alfred Kerr was a theatre critic of the Weimar era and her mother Julia Kerr née Weismann, was a composer. Alfred Kerr adamantly opposed Hitler and the rising National Socialist party. He fled to Prague when Hitler became imperial chancellor in 1933.

In March 1933, Judith, her 2-year-older brother Michael and her mother also secretly left the idyllic wooded suburb of Berlin-Grunewald just before the secret police tried to seize their passports. Had they waited a day, just one day more the Nazis would have confiscated their passports and there would be no Mog, a tragedy in and of itself.

Judith Kerr and the family reunited with their father in Switzerland. They moved through Europe, eventually arriving in Britain. The older brother Michael was interned while studying law in Cambridge but was later released. He joined the RAF.

No one is being rounded up but the UK is now a hostile environment for Jews. The Prime Minister admitted this in the Times this week. Starmer admitting “this day-to-day acceptance of antisemitism has permeated our whole society. Today in Britain, many Jewish schoolchildren feel compelled to hide their school uniforms. In primary schools they practise bomb drills: small children hiding beneath their desks in fear of an attack. Synagogues have had to be protected by brave volunteers prepared to risk their lives, just like those I spoke to in Manchester last week whose extraordinary courage to barricade the doors clearly averted an even worse atrocity. Jewish students have been targeted on our campuses. Jewish patients often conceal their identity when accessing our NHS.

On our streets, week after week, as some have exercised their freedom to protest against the Israeli government’s actions in Gaza, others have used this as a despicable excuse to attack British Jews for something over which they have absolutely no responsibility. Let me just spell that out for a moment: people on our streets calling for the murder of Jewish people they have never even met, for something they are not responsible for. A total loss of empathy and humanity not in some faraway land but right here in the heart of our country.”

This is an extraordinary admission from the man who is in charge of running the fucking country and in a position to do something about it. Starmer has encouraged the antisemitism that “has permeated our whole society.” In a cynical and dangerous move Starmer rewarded Hamas by recognising the Palestinian state to keep his Muslim constituents happy. One article in the Times and some extra police powers is not going to make up for this or hide the weakness at the heart of the British state. This government and the entire British establishment are powerless in the face of this emboldened Islamic antisemitism supported by the left.

The problem isn’t just antisemitism, it is the openly flaunted antisemitism. And that’s just the doctors. When you flaunt your antisemitism it is because you know there will be no consequences. So when a doctor at a protest makes a throat slit gesture to Jews, without consequence to her fitness to practise, that’s a problem.

Dr Rahmeh Aladwan a junior doctor who made a “slit your throat” gesture to Jewish protesters escaped suspension after a tribunal found that she had a right to freedom of expression. Dr Aladwan is training to be a trauma and orthopaedic surgeon but has been allowed to continue working for the NHS after a panel of the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service said that its duty to protect members of the public “must be balanced with the doctor’s right to freedom of expression” under Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights. That’s reassuring.

Or for instance when the father of little Jihad (who attacked a synagogue in Manchester) openly celebrated Oct 7th on Facebook he did so because he knew there would be no consequences. On and on it goes.

These are not outliers. Antisemitism is always with us, I reckon, the problem is when it is paraded around in public, for all to see. This means the antisemites are emboldened because they have nothing to fear from the authorities such as the police or employers. Hence why the Prime Minister and the Home Secretary had to plead with people not to protest after the Manchester attack. They begged like children with no authority and were were unsurprisingly ignored.

This is why the Prime Minister must then prostrate himself to students not to protest/celebrate the brutal massacre of Jews on the two year anniversary of October 7th. In the same piece in Times on Tuesday the Prime Minister asked the antisemites nicely to take a day off. “On the anniversary of the atrocities of October 7, students are once again planning protests. This is not who we are as a country. It’s un-British to have so little respect for others. And that’s before some of them decide to start chanting hatred towards Jewish people all over again.”

Starmer is wrong: this is exactly what Britain is as a country. For twenty years under the sacred belief that Diversity is our Strength every possible excuse has been made for each Islamic terrorist attack, politicians and media declaring “this it has nothing to do with Islam.” They say this even when the ‘British citizen of Syrian descent’ is named Jihad by his Jew hating father. Jihad then grows up to kill some Jews. For two long years the government has permitted protests on the streets that include chanting hatred towards Jewish people. And it all comes after the scandal of Muslim grooming gangs who raped white girls with impunity for decades.

Taken together the message has been well and truly received: the Islamists are in charge. The streets can be taken over every single weekend by these Jew hating – Palestinian protests and everyone especially the Jews are just going to have to suck it up. This is why on Oct 7th numerous groups in British universities in London, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Bristol will celebrate a massacre of Jews. And nothing will be done.

The critical point is the facilitators. The reason why the doctors, students and lawyers act with such impunity is that they face no sanction. Their facilitators are lined up to defend them: the solicitors, the lawyers, the other doctors in the BMA, the judges and the police. This is the problem for British Jews right now: it is not isolated acts of antisemitism; the entire system is infected with it, as Starmer himself admits.

It is not for me to say what British Jews should do in such a hostile environment. But they have my sympathies.

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
