Keir Starmer’s ‘Britain Last’ Agenda Betrays Brexit and British Workers

Labour’s globalist trade deals that put foreign interests first and sell out national sovereignty.

Keir Starmer has once again shown where his loyalties lie, and it isn’t with the British people.

His series of trade deals with India, the United States, and the European Union amount to a total capitulation of Britain’s post-Brexit independence. These so-called “agreements” represent a seismic betrayal of the Brexit vote and a clear signal that Labour is back to putting Britain last.

Starmer’s hyped-up UK-India trade agreement offers Indian corporations a three-year exemption from paying National Insurance Contributions (NICs) for Indian workers brought in on assignment, effectively making it cheaper to hire foreign labour over British workers.

These are not Indian nationals who live in the UK and already contribute to society, these are temporary staff, flown in to undercut wages and sidestep the tax system.

Reform UK and a growing number of backbench Tories are rightly furious. British workers, already squeezed by a cost-of-living crisis, are now being forced to compete with a foreign workforce imported on the cheap; all rubber-stamped by a Labour government that promised “economic fairness”. What happened to putting British jobs first? What happened to building a high-wage, high-skill economy? Starmer’s India deal does neither – it sells out British workers and floods the market with a cheaper alternative.

Likewise, under Labour’s watch, Britain has signed a trade deal with the United States that gives the impression of progress while quietly allowing punitive tariffs on British goods to triple in some sectors. Tariffs on UK car exports to the US had surged to 27.5% thanks to Trump’s “America First” agenda, yet all Starmer has achieved is a cap of 100,000 cars per year facing a 10% tariff and anything more goes back up to 25%, barely scratching the surface of what’s needed. This is a humiliating downgrade of Britain’s trading status.

Washington, understandably, continues to prioritise its own industries while Starmer poses for photo-ops and declares “shared values”. In reality, Britain has been mugged off by its ally while Labour calls it a diplomatic victory.

Starmer’s May 19th “reset” agreement with the European Union is the final nail in the coffin for anyone who hoped Labour would respect the 2016 referendum result. Under the deal, EU trawlers will continue to access British waters until 2038 – an outright betrayal of the promises made to British fishing communities, who were assured a post-Brexit revival but have instead been given the boot.

The agreement also opens the doors to a “youth experience scheme”, which allows EU citizens aged 18–30 near-automatic access to live and work in the UK. Likewise, the deal looks to rejoin the Erasmus+ programme. Though Starmer insists these moves are “reciprocal”, it effectively rebrands and reintroduces freedom of movement. Additionally, the UK will now align with EU food and agricultural regulations, reviving the influence of EU courts and oversight mechanisms, an act of submission masquerading as regulatory cooperation.

Perhaps most controversially, Starmer has committed the UK to renewed participation in EU funding schemes and a shared defence pact, once again drawing from the British taxpayer without democratic consent. This is European integration by stealth – no referendum, no public mandate, just a Labour leadership dragging Britain back under Brussels’ rule. But all is not lost, because at least we can get through the airport gates 5 minutes quicker.

Starmer promised “stability”. What he’s delivered is a complete betrayal of the Brexit mandate, the British workforce, and the very idea of national self-respect. This is not internationalism, it’s self-inflicted subservience. Under Labour, Britain is being sold off deal by deal, inch by inch, to foreign powers with no regard for our democratic choices, our borders, or our workers. For Brexiteers and patriots alike, the message is unmistakable: under Starmer, Britain no longer stands as a sovereign nation, but has been reduced to a discount outlet for global corporations and foreign bureaucrats.

The fight to defend Brexit is far from over.

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
